Cafe Gitane in Nolita on Mott and Prince Streets is a French Moroccan cafe serving consistently great food. It’s a great brunch spot, super busy in the summertime, expect a line, but well worth the wait, which is often 20 – 30 minutes. I’d recommend the avocado toast (see my pic below) which I’ve enjoyed a thousand times. They also offer great salads and fish, their baked Salmon is fantastic. It’s for sure a hipster, model and celebrity hangout, with a relaxed chilled out vibe. The menu is healthy, there are plenty of good options for vegetarians or those that don’t have a big appetite, but want to eat slowly and enjoy the day or evening. No ones in a hurry, it’s a cafe to just chill out in, enjoy good fresh food and company.
