Yes yes yes! After some 50 years the sequel (actually written before To Kill a Mockingbird) by Harper Lee her second book ever is being released July 14th 2015. To Kill a Mockingbird is without a doubt one of my all time favorite books from high school, it’s a book well ahead of it’s time witnessing sexual violence and racial tensions through Scout a young girls eyes.
I know nerd alert, but seriously some twenty years on I am actually really excited about reading the book again in preparation for the sequel Go Set a Watchman.
2 million copies are set for print, a monster run!
The sequel sees Scout return from New York to visit her father, the lawyer Atticus Finch.
Reading from the publisher’s press release: “She (Scout) is forced to grapple with issues both personal and political as she tries to understand her father’s attitude toward society, and her own feelings about the place where she was born and spent her childhood.”
