Yes that’s right, the Musket Room in Nolita has collected a coveted Michelin Star, just four months after opening it’s doors. New Zealand-inspired restaurant bought to you by the ever so talented Kiwi head chef Matt Lambert, his wife Barbara Lambert, and partner Jennifer Vitagliano is becoming a smash hit for the hood. Turning five star dining from snooty to comfortable, the vision of The Musket Room is to make fine dining a casual experience, jeans and tea shirts with luxurious decadent food! Yum. I like it. Who wants to be snooty anymore, why not enjoy great food in a casual, laid back elegant setting.
The Musket Room team have nailed it, the food is the talk of the town right now, and the interiors have been well designed to sooth the soul and make you feel as chilled out as a New Zealander on a fishing boat! The food perfectly complements the interiors (Alexander Waterworth Interiors collected the Hospitality Design Award in April 2014 in Upscale Restaurant Design), simple, with a gentle touch of class but not too much sophistication.
The smoked sea scallops come highly recommended and are apparently a hit on the menu, the custard of mushroom also sounds delicious too.
